She’s pink, she oinks and she’s back. After fifty-five years, Priscilla the Pink Pig still celebrates Christmas in Atlanta. Setting out on a journey that will remind native Atlantans of an old holiday tradition while creating new holiday memories for everyone. From its 1953 debut as a children’s ride at the downtown Rich’s, many generations of Atlanta residents have ridden the pink pig into the holiday season, and not to mention millions, have worn “I Rode the Pink Pig” stickers with pride.

If you’re like me, you did tons of research before moving to Atlanta. I quickly discovered that there are lots of things to get into…great restaurants, exciting professional sports teams, charming boutiques to shop, and arts events every night of the week. So I strategically chose an apartment in Atlanta to be close to it all. I wanted to be able to walk to all my favorite places. I forgot that I have one pair of tennis shoes in my closet. Finding fun and unusual kids things to do in Atlanta is not a difficult task. If youngsters love to learn and enjoy new experiences, this is a great city to live in. Atlanta’s many attractions offer a host of summer, after-school and weekend educational programs that are just right for engaging little ones’ hearts and minds. There are also some incredible programs for older learners at the middle and high school levels.

Residents of Atlanta apartments have surely noticed the gas shortage in the area. The threat of Hurricane Ike is mostly to blame. Many Gulf Coast refineries shut down production as a precaution before the storm, even if they were not damaged, because of power outages. Ike destroyed at least 10 oil and gas platforms and damaged pipelines in the Gulf of Mexico.
