She’s pink, she oinks and she’s back. After fifty-five years, Priscilla the Pink Pig still celebrates Christmas in Atlanta. Setting out on a journey that will remind native Atlantans of an old holiday tradition while creating new holiday memories for everyone. From its 1953 debut as a children’s ride at the downtown Rich’s, many generations of Atlanta residents have ridden the pink pig into the holiday season, and not to mention millions, have worn “I Rode the Pink Pig” stickers with pride.

Atlanta Gasoline Worries

Residents of Atlanta apartments have surely noticed the gas shortage in the area. The threat of Hurricane Ike is mostly to blame. Many Gulf Coast refineries shut down production as a precaution before the storm, even if they were not damaged, because of power outages. Ike destroyed at least 10 oil and gas platforms and damaged pipelines in the Gulf of Mexico.
