For the All Day Date

If you made plans to spend a Saturday with your honey, don’t fret about finding something to do for the day. There are plenty of restaurants serving up scrumptious lunches and plenty of attractions to see that will keep you busy all day:

Atlantic Station – If your date loves to shop, this is a great place to spend the day. This outdoor shopping center boasts over 100 retail shops including favorites like Dillards, Guess, Gap, Ikea, and Express. Not a real shopper? Don’t worry, there’s plenty else to do like catch a movie at the Regal Cinemas or a special event like the Friday Night Art Market. All that walking and window shopping is bound to make you hungry; check out one of the many restaurants at Atlantic station like Rosa Mexicana, Copeland’s Cheesecake Bistro or Boneheads.

Fernbank Museum of Natural History – Adult tickets for admission are only $15, and you’ll definitely be able to spend the whole day exploring the exhibits of this museum. Or, if you’re in the mood for a movie, admission is $21 per adult and you gain entrance to the museum and an IMAX movie. Be sure to check out the website for special exhibitions and IMAX movie times. Right now special exhibitions are focusing on polar bears and penguins.

For the Romantic Date

Sometimes you’re just really in the mood for a sappy, fairy tale date that only seems possible in the movies. You can really woo your date with these romantic spots found right here in the city:

The Atlanta Botanical Gardens – You couldn’t ask for a more beautiful backdrop for a romantic stroll through the city than the Atlanta Botanical Gardens. Admission is $12 for adults. Also, look out for days when the gardens are hosting special events. Check out Cocktails in the Garden every Thursday night from 6 to 7pm through August and September. Cocktails are only $3. And, how much more romantic can you get than having a few cocktails in the gardens before dinner?

Babette’s Cafe – If you’re looking for a romantic restaurant, look no further than Babette’s Cafe near Inman Park. The bistro-esque, shabby chic feel will have your date swooning. And, to increase the romance, take a table out on the patio and enjoy a delicious but moderately priced meal. Their brunch isn’t too bad either. And, don’t forget the dessert. What’s a romantic dinner without sharing a sugary treat with your sweetie?

For the “Go All Out” Date

Do you have some money to spend and want to pull out all of the stops for a romantic date in the city? Well, Atlanta won’t disappoint with it’s culinary and cultural scene:

The High Museum of Art – Open from 10am-5pm Tuesday through Sunday, it’s a great place to start off a Saturday evening date. Admission for adults is $18, but it’s worth every penny. Make sure you check out the special exhibitions like the “Road to Freedom: Photographs of the Civil Rights Movements” or “Louvre Atlanta.”

Bone’s – This dining establishment located in Buckhead is a favorite among Atlanta residents, probably because the steaks are exquisite and the atmosphere is lavish and luxurious. The Filet Mignon may cost you $40, but it’s a heaping cut of 14 oz, and it’s probably one of the best steaks you’ll ever treat your honey to. But, if the atmosphere is what you’re looking for and you don’t want to break the bank, check out their other main courses like Grilled salmon with honey-soy glaze and wasabi sauce. Yum!

Whether you’re looking to spend a little or a lot on some culture or fun in the city of Atlanta, you’re bound to come up with a creative date! Check out the ATL Insider for other great ideas for an awesome date in the city.
